Hello {{firstName|Collector}},

Welcome to this week’s edition of Collector’s Digest! Whether you're a collector, trader, or investor, here’s what’s happening in the Pokémon TCG world:

📊 Top Market Winners and Losers

N's Reshiram - 167/159 - SV09: Journey Together (JTG)

Current Price: ~$14 (Raw) [Down ~50% or $14 the since release]

💡 Analysis: Here we can see a normal decrease in price of a new card. The reason why I point this out is the next card is not following the usually trend of a decrease. Most new cards including the major hits will see a decrease in price from the initial release.

Victini - 171/086 - SV: Black Bolt (BLK)

Current Price: ~$440 (Raw)

🔥 Analysis: As of August 2025, this victini card is above the initial asking price on TCGPlayer. This is one of the first or few times I have seen this with a new set. Above shows a more common example of a card decreasing in price. Another think that shocks me is that Victini isn’t super popular/mainstream.

Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection - Celebrations (CLB)

🤑 Current Price: ~$900 (Raw) [Up ~172% or $570 the past year]

Analysis: With the 30th anniversary coming fast for Pokémon in 2026 I am not shocked that the price is rising rapidly increasing. For those unaware celebrations was the 25th anniversary set that was widely popular and also released during a pokemon Boom. Almost tripling in price in one year is a lot, however, I do think we could see it go even higher.

🃏 Vintage Card Spotlight

Dark Gengar - Neo Destiny (N4)

Why It’s Noteworthy: This card and gengar from skyridge were the two most expensive cards for Gengar. However, this card has now been dethroned by a team up card. Gengar & Mimikyu GX (Card below) has now passed both cards on TCGPlayer with Gengar & Mimikyu GX surpassing $900 dollars. Tag team cards have been booming the last month and this could be a sign that modern is still booming. It also could be signs we are living in a bubble.

💡 Collector’s Tip of the Week

Modern and vintage are at the highest they have been in recent years. Make sure to collect what you enjoy still and not speculate that the market will keep going up. What comes up must come down. (Or not lol)

🎉 Pokémon News You Need to Know

Mega Evolution is on the way (September 26th)

Launching on September 26th in the US. There has been announcement and rumors of delays across the world for the English version of this set. This could be due to tariffs going into affect form the US on August 29th. Below are some of my favorite cards from the set.

🛒 Retail & Policy Updates - Purchase Limits at Retailers
In response to product shortages and consumer complaints, Pokémon has announced support for purchase limit policies on its trading cards. Retailers like Target and Costco have implemented limits to curb hoarding and ensure fair access for all customers.
